Half Pint
Golden Hen Riddim
I've been on a classics, or vintage, spree as of late. A lot of the old riddims like Real Rock, Golden Hen, Hot Milk, Sleng Teng, and Revolution, have found their way into my 60GB ViPod. I then go to work, and while the majority of the employees still are figuring out Nanko and Voicemail, I'm blasting the classics...

Motorola i860 for Nextel
Well, back in November, I made up my mind to try Nextel for two years. In addition, with some warped confidence from my barber and closest member of da kliq, I've latched him onto my plan, extending my contract with them until February 2008. So far, there haven't been much complaints. There's always how I latched my boy into the contract, the type of phone he's using, etc. But aside from that, my brother and I have yet to experience a dropped call. As with Verizon, that's always good.
As for the i860, judging from the pics above, it's a decent camera phone. I haven't fully tested the steady "flash" light, but in the circumstances I'm placed in, it was pretty much unnecessary. The perks of having a face with a name and number are always cool, and the voice memos, calculators and datebook are nice additions. Furthermore, I should note that if you're in Nextel, and don't know about it yet, ask around and try Webjal. Concise information on installation and usage is found here; and trust me, I've used it already; it's koooool...
This handy app allows Windowz users (dissin' the Mac, YET AGAIN!) to modify their iWhatevers with their customized wallpapers, ringtones, games, and even applications. Right now, my ringtones are customized to specific peeps that I wanna know are calling me:
Tenor Saw's Ring The Alarm: my morning carpool ride
KMC's Soul On Fire: any female co-worker, and for no apparent reason.
Luther Vandross' Wait For Love: my mother; she & I miss Luther, and she often tells me that anyway
Rayvon's Bashment Party: all kliq members
Sizzla's Just One Of Those Days: ex-co-workers (i.e.: The GreenPoint Old Timer). Best way to differentiate them, I guess.
Stu Phillips' Knight Rider Theme: for everyone else.
Cool. Very Cool.
Customizable. Sleek. Yet, no built in alarm, and a crappy battery life (slim battery=one day; extended battery=1.5 - 2 days). Nonetheless, it's suits my needs.
Rating: 9.0 out of 10
PS_If you don't mind me checking out your i870s and i930s for comparison, by all means, let me know, and I'll do just that!
Now, the pics:
A - I'm in the market for perhaps a used car now. This Toyota Supra is one of the models I've been checking out as of recent, alongside Honda Accords, Nissans, and Vintage Benz's. I've had a lot of people tell me to check out SUVs, yet only one telling me to check out a Jeep. But I'm funny like that: I want my first car to be a car, not a truck or half a truck, or an oversized car. Meanwhile, my petite female staff are dreaming of Envoys, Escalades, and other monstrosities they can't drive, for the mere reason that their feet can't reach the pedal. Their blessing, and their curse.
B - My branch won a investment contest our region was holding. The prize was dinner anywhere the staff chose. What they failed to mention however was that the staff at that point consisted of the management. And they insisted that the place we go to was Momoyama, a Japanese steakhouse in Sheepshead Bay. Headed by the dude you see in the picture, the venture turned out to be quite a huge success. Everyone had a great time; the restaurant got great reviews from us, and is often referred to other people. But truth be told, the real reason this event turned out excellent had to be because proper advertising:

And if I do say so myself, for a novice on Photoshop, I am the shit.

C - I love my Olympus C5000 5.0 megapixel digital camera. I really do. It is my first digital camera; my first real leap into the digital world, iPod aside. But when your pics don't shine no more, and especially when your parental carbon based units decide that they want to use your equipment to step into the digital world themselves, it usually means it's time to upgrade. Perhaps, upscale is what I need to do; because I still have no need for SLR and 10MP camera, yet. And with the '06 NY Auto Show coming up soon, it's best if I just take the point and shoot route, instead of the Photog-Digitography 101 class I was undertaking with my C5000. Therefore, I am also in the market for a new digital camera. The camera shown [Nikon CoolPic P2] was recommended to me by a J&R Music World salesperson; but after reading reviews on CNET.com, I've concluded that the price of admission, $240, was just too high.
Mikey, how's your diCamera holding up?!

** I've said it before, this truly is the best, and as usual, underrated, R&B album of 2005. I mean, from start to finish, this CD kicks ass! Highly recommended to all, in my view of course.
D - For peoples entering the digital realm, it's hard to believe that we still use kettles to heat up water for tea. No, this is NOT my opinion, but that of my visiting aunt from Trinidad, who cracked a smile at our Whistler before taking my pop down with her. Then all of a sudden, the kettle cracked. Mi mum looked at me, shook her head as though I broke it (mind you, she put it under the fire with very little water in it; but I'm not sayin nuttin'), and said "perhaps now's the time to go electric."
I went to Kmart to window shop. The only electric kettle they had was for $20, and the inside of the kettle looks like pic [D]. Knowing this could be a problem, I took the pic, and showed it to mum when I went home. "No way. Absolutely not. Do you know what the water will taste like once that metal rusts?! They must be out of their minds..."
Not really. The better EK's, the appliances where the heating mechanism is separate from the actual base where the water is held, run about $40-$70. So, it's off to Bed Bath & Beyond for now...
That's really about it for now.
Oh yeah, it snowed today. Ice now covers the building's doorstep.
I'm still at North Fork. That's a blessed bummer, all things considered...
That Girl...
What of the SSF I spent two or three freelances on?! I'll put it this way: there is a reason being where I am is blessed bummer. While I enjoy looking at the many females along the production-possibilities-frontier, I get no joy in realising that the vast majority of them have next to nothing to offer me, or bottom line, come with too much drama for me & my momma! The closest I ever, EVER got to success in this department left me with a bitter taste in my mouth:
After bailing out on a dinner invite, I learn that she's "sorta married."
Yeah, I'm saying it here. As she said it to me. Sorta married.
With no indication of that prior to the dinner invitation.
I'm not gonna go into specifics here, it just makes no sense to me at this point. All I'll say is that the afternoon the truth unfolded itself was the last I ever heard from that one.
Needless to say, I need out of my current circumstances.
Speaking of the current circumstances, I work in another 10 hours. Later guys!
