Paradiiiiizzzzze...

Nothing smells sweeter than starting up my well-deserved two week vacation. Right now, I listen to some soca from my time (Carnival, Baby!) while trying to recall what happened at JamRock.
But before I forget, if you do not have a lot of patience, or if you have oily fingers and are an iPod user, DO NOT use the iPodCleaner kit. I applied about 5-6 polishings to my iPod photo, and while the back shows life again (never put two iPods back to back against each other without protection), the screen looks a bit worse than before. I'll try that iKreme cleaner, but if that don't do it, I'll anxiously look forward to the newest iPod.

Welcome To JamRock!
Slowly but surely, it is returning to me.
Stephen Marley sounds a lot like his late dad. And that's a compliment. He and Damian got together and performed some of their old hits, including some cool renditions of Bob Marley's tracks. For the last 10 minutes, Junior Gong seemingly plugged in tracks from his new album coming soon. And next thing you know, he leaves the stage, and the party done. WITHOUT JAMROCK?! WTF?? Without hesitation, Steve and I started the "encore" chants until everyone picked up what we were doing. Few minutes later, Junior Gong returns and performs the first 2 minutes of the track!! Who said fan participation doesn't do much?!
Between the black (and white) weed smokers, the white chicks trying to do the reggae thing, all the single guys trying to come on to them, only to realize they were lesbian, and the lighter troubles Steve's girlfriend Ugochi was having, I had a blast. I could have used some drinks though, but hell, I had fun.
Now that Steve's made it with his new job and is training on Chi-town, he could finally upgrade his cell phone, and pay off some "debts" as he calls it. What debts? On JamRock night, I sat at the lounge table to eat my wings-and-fries. He and his girl were already there, just standing around. I called them over, signalling them to join me. Neither one of them had a lot of cash, so I figured I spring them and do my good deed for the day. After they refused, the waiter came over to inform us that there is a $10 per person cover charge at the tables. Whoa. Now, you'd figure they were already sitting there, they'll just buy some drinks and call it a night. Nope, not these two; they were getting up from an awkward situation, and prepared to go back to where they were originally. After I insisted the two stay and get some drinks, Steve broke down and told me his situation. I reiterated that I would spring for them, and this makes Steve uneasy. Very uneasy. His girl, who obviously felt strange about the whole affair, refused every offer Steve and I put on the table. The waiter returns, and it dawned on me: just get my drinks through them! So Steve ordered some grubb (which aww, how nice, he and his girl shared). while I got my second cosmo using Ugochi! Problem solved.
Meantime, Steve still feels he owes me something. I feel not.
Nonetheless, he vows to pay me back.
This I gotta see...

...more later from my two week vacation!!!
