Ahh. Feels so good to be...
almost there.
Happy 3rd Blogging anniversary! And welcome one and all to a new year of my supposed-to-be-awesome life called:
Shy Guy - The 3rd Evolution.
I hope everyone likes the changes I brought to this blog. And if there are recommendations, feel free to e-mail me with them. One of the most obvious changes is the absence of my background picture. That is now found in...
dum-duh-duh-dum-dum duuuummm...
My new about me page!
Yup, dis Kat unda da Kangol Cap's gotta new about me page! Similar to the previous one, and still no photo of me. Self-conscious, you ask?! Well, not really, I just haven't found a decent portrait to put on there.
As to the freelance blog, it's still in the final stages. But I am looking at a possible May 1st startup date. I'm slowly but surely working my way up through HTML, and finally learned how to make the most of my 10MB of web space by finally putting up my own pictures! I feel great in those respects. And once again, I hope you katz n' kittens enjoy the revamp.
Flawless (Go To The City)
George Michael
Patience
Nope. This kat's not waiting months for an american version. This kat went out and plucked $25 for the import. And honestly, it was worth the $25. Classic George at his high moments, with the mentioned track above being my current favorite. I will also add that Freek! 04 and Shoot The Dog did put the album a little out of place. It is by no means any Older or Faith, but all in all, it's still a good buy; even better if you are a GM fan.

The Punisher
Truly a kick-ass film! Thomas Jane for one reason or the next keeps giving me this twentysomething, black-haired Christopher Lambert vibe everytime he wields his guns, but in getting past that, it was still all I could ask for. Off the record, while I appreciate the more darker, violent tone that this film finally brought to the Punisher (because, by the way, it's supposed to be a dark and violent environment), this film also made me appreciate the Dolph Lundgren version from the 80's. While the current version brings everything current, and brings the appropriate atmosphere, the 80's version made it appear exactly like it was: a cut-out comic book. Guns that virtually pop out of nowhere; obvious double-turns from Jerome Karobe's bad guy character; the motorcycle scenes; even Louis Gossett Jr.'s character as a whole seemed very much like the comics I've read. All this current version does is bring the missing ingredient: reality.
Kudos to John Travolta, for a deliciously evil performance as Howard Saint; and even moreso for Laura Harring as Livia Saint. Did anybody catch Kevin "Diesel" Nash as the Russian dude?!?! I thought he had the best chance of killing Castle; that was of course until he was "un-invited" for dinner. Anyway, great film, recommended for anyone who doesn't mind the darkside.

Walking Tall
When I walked out of the theater, I felt like the movie was too short. Too short, and too corny for some reason. The whole trial was too short. There could have been at least one more showdown of some sort between the Rock's character (Chris Vaughn) and the rest of the town. As soon as I pinpoint exactly what was missing from the film, I'll let you know.
Other than that, it was light-hearted action film. Not really violent in a gory way, nor is it too provocative. No explicit behavior, just some straight up facts, and some straight up responses from Vaughn. He, along with Johnny Knoxville's Ray Templeton, set out to clean up the town; and that's simple. All they do is try to run out the empire of Jay Hamilton (played by Neal McDonough; that dude gets around!); and for some reason, this feat proves near impossible. But the job gets done, and the mill runs again.
I reiterate, this film I felt was just too short. The Punisher lasted longer, and rightfully so. Maybe with time, this film would've been better as a whole than it is. But, what can you do!?
Sit, and wait for the Rock's next film.

Next time, Kill Bill v2, and hopefully, just hopefully, Starsky and Hutch.
I was gonna wait until a certain someone's computer was back and up and running. But I must share my newfound joy in running OS X Panther on my computer! It feels faster, more efficient, and brighter. Also, I finally brought myself an external hard drive for my stuff, so I can finally exchange files between my desktop and my laptop without grief! The only thing missing is... a new laptop.
Later in this post, work, school, and girlz, girlz, girlz, girlz...
