Blogging in da Winter Chill, Day 4...
Man, it was cold today!! The coldest friggin day this winter. Normally, I would just bounce out for lunch during work with my jacket open. Today, I had to go back inside, grab the rest of my winter gear, and zip up. My manager accused me of trying to leave early...
Oh yes, the GreenPoint old-timer. The bitch. I feel to use the terms interchangably. Due to the influence of my fellow colleagues from work (okay, under orders from management, who obviously saw more chills than the weather outside), I was requested to patch things up with her, and move on. How did this happen? I brought my lunch down to the break room for the first time, and sat with her. She began peering through the food, until she finally found a way to acquire a little of everything. Just when she thought the coast was cleared, she looked up with her mouth stuffed, to see me shaking my head. We talked a little bit, then it was back to work. After work, she stalked me, err, walked with me to the bus stop; where we discussed what happened that Wednesday. What I got out of that conversation was simply this: she felt she did no harm, and I knew better. In any event, she talks me into going to the grocery store with her, so I can carry her belongings in 15 degree weather to her house. Quite a nice place she has, too. Lots of hugs and kisses, and she directs me to the bus stop, as though I never traveled in BK before.
That's how we made up.
Weird, ain't it?!
First time eating in their break room. It felt odd; but then again, I probably brought that on, because my alienation might have led them to believe that I had some problem eating with these associates. Truth be told, it's not that I have no etiquette. But I have personal issues with people watching me eat. Yup, I'll be that nutcase who'll always wait 'til I'm home to eat. I can't eat on the bus, can't eat on the train, nor in a car, whether it's mine, or a close friend's. I just can't do it...
$585 for a mattress. Yup, just the mattress. A good Stearns & Foster mattress will cost me $585 with tax & shipping. What a kat's gotta do for comfortable bedding...
Alright folks, that's it for now.
Sleep warm...
