I smile... because I have no idea what is going on.
Ok, that's not all entirely true. At least, that was not the case when I took my Intermediate Macroeconomics midterm on Tuesday. I just don't ever want to go through with that professor again. I want to get out of college so bad...
But now it looks like the spring of 2004...
But in any event, greetings from da kat under da Kangol cap! Another week, and I have just came back from spring break. Yep, all 100% of me is now intact, and ready to finish this semester so I can do some real work. As far as the April showers of midterms went, I got a 97 in the Statistical Analysis midterm, 24 out of 25 on my Advanced Accounting I exam, B on Advanced Accounting II, 95 on my Business Organization midterm, and as stated earlier, I just took my Eco 301 test on Tuesday. All in all, things are looking up, up, and away from here. All I need to do right now, is maintain my focus, and come finals, keep the formula intact.
So, what else is new otherwise? Hmm...
The new iPods will be available for me to hold, touch, and druel on this Friday at the Apple Store in Soho. So you know I'm gonna be there to check that out.
New updates for iTunes, Quicktime, and iPod software are available! These new updates incorporate the AAC m4p technology, which supposedly is the next generation of mp3. 128 kbps encoded AAC files keep as much of the music intact as a 192 kbps mp3 file, while still using less hard disk space! [This in turn backs the claim that a 30GB iPod can hold up to 7500 songs, when in keeping with the original mp3 system, it would only hold up to 5000 songs.] And the sound is pretty amazing.
Also, in response to the music piracy problems, Apple has partnered with music companies to form it's very own iTunes Music Store, where any song you want is $1 (compared to $5 for a CD single, that's well worth the investment), and any album is $10. Once I got the damn music eStore to accept my Apple ID login (that took a long while), I bought two songs on their opening day; the first being One Hundred Ways by David Sanborn, the other being Spice of Life, by The Manhattan Transfer (yes, the Manhattan Transfer). All downloads when I used it were only available in the new AAC format, which is protected/locked; you cannot make any changes or conversions unless you burn the songs unto CD. That of course would be the only downside. But hey, it's my music, so I really don't care. And, all I have to do in the long run is wait until some programmer finds a way to fix that protection problem anyway. Otherwise, the system is pretty cool, and I might be able to find more songs with it!! You see, those guys at Apple can use their brains someimes...
Furthermore, Griffin Tech. & Belkin seemingly have been reading my posts, because they now have created FM radios and battery packs that work the old and new iPods!! Though the visual concepts were not what I had imagined, their minds were in the right place, and they'll be available over the summer!
However, I do not want you guys to feel that I do not appreciate my scratched up 10GB Iceman, who turns five months this month. With 1647 songs, and only 1.8 GB of space left, it functions without fail, progressing update after update, and while the new iPods will only have 8 hours of life, this one still gives me 10! Sorry Tavie, I ain't givin my baby up; he'll just have a brother or sister to play with!! This would of course come after I replace my home mini audio system (yup, instead of buying $130 speakers, I'm gonna get the full bookshelf system, and just connect my iPod to it). Oh man I can't wait til this semester ends...
My father came out the hospital on Tuesday!! He looks and feels great; it's as if nothing happened. Only God can do these things man; bring more, more, more!!
A new addition has been added to my blog, my photos!!! Now you all can see my mug shots (but as for now, some pics from the 2003 Auto Show) anytime you choose. But I warn you, I only intend to post pics sparingly. It's not like you really need to see what I look like...
Right now, I look at my current academic situation, and while part of me wants to kick myself in the ass, the other part just wants to keep on movin'. Due to the fact I changed my major from math to accounting, I end up staying at Hunter one semester (or possibly year) longer than I anticipated. This is bad only because a decent portion of the kliq will graduate in June, and I technically will be unable to join in the festivities. I mean, I'll be 22 when I graduate; and I took no semester-long vacation, no failing grades, no serious problems, nothing. I just will be leaving later than anticipated.
On the same note, I will be the first in my family's generation to graduate from college. And nothing beats that. Though my generation is relatively small in size, to know that I can provide an example for my younger, and older, cousins and brother to follow is one hug chunk of what keeps me going in this system. And in the end, I will face the greatest challenge of all...
Moving out.
Well guys, that was all that was on mind for the week. Until Friday, when I start drueling on the new iPods, enjoy yourselves!! And remember, if not for you, then at least do it for me!!
PS_ Where in the blue hell is Mikey???
