There's a light at the end of every tunnel...
just pray it's not a train.
In the midst of April Madness, the midterms have already started to roll. Just yesterday, I had another Business Organization & Management exam to take. Now, I have an Advanced Accounting I exam on Monday; an Advanced Accounting II exam on Wednesday; and a Statistics exam the following week. Forget the road to graduation; the road to Spring Break won't be easy...
Other than that, greetings from the guy under the Kangol Cap. I know it's been a while since I last posted; but given the past couple of days which have been sort of awkward for me, I've had little time to splurge. Coincidentally, this post should come a whole month after Mikey last posted. This is a reminder buddy: It's been a whole friggin month now. I know you're gettin' old; I know you're tryin to graduate; but don't leave a brotha in suspense! Say something!
What's new otherwise? Well, let's see:
My iPod turns 4 months old next week! And to let you know, the update for it (version 1.2.6) works beautifully. I have not seen that annoying dead battery logo on the screen since I updated my iPod a week or so ago. The iPod earphones, however, have taken quite a beating. The proper bass & frequency levels I request of it gives those dainty little things problems resulting in temporary, but very noticeable, sound distortion. It may come to the point where I simply must replace them. Meanwhile, The Sony 700DJ headphones are totally awesome. I can't sing enough praises about them. Also of note, the Krusell Classic leather case I bought was a cool investment. But what a I going to about the lint it attracts on the scroll wheel...
The Auto Show is coming to New York! And unlike that last several years I went, I intend on going opening day, April 18th. This would be good for me, because it coincidentally rolls right along with Spring Break. And after that, I'll have the rest of the time to contemplate my grades, and finish my 2 page paper due in May. Now that I know how to work Photoshop and iPhoto well, my next project will involve creating a QuickTime movie about my trip there! The question that remains is what song will I use...
Boo-hoo! :'( I can't go to the St. Lucia Smooth Jazz Festival! Not that actually getting there would be the problem, it's getting back! Oh well, to supe myself up for next month, I started acquiring some of my dad's Bob & Boney James CD's; some George Benson, Al Jarreau, Randy Crawford, Kirk Whalum, David Sanborn, Fourplay, all the Grover Washingtons, Dave Brubeck, George Howard, Bobby Caldwell, Regina Belle, and even Jill Scott (thanks, Shola!) to name a few. I get to lay on my bed after the finals, my fan at full speed; a fresh pitcher of lemon-juiced iced tea; and just chill with my music. I might even add some Luther Vandross, Norah Jones, and Jeffrey Osborne tracks. But nothing beats being in St. Lucia. Man, I can't wait until I graduate...
And if you have no clue as to who these people are, don't feel bad. 93% of my friends don't have a clue either...
In less than 20 days, my blog turns a year old! The upgrades are coming along nicely; and I am starting to consider the YACCS system, as well as a fotolog, so people will now know what I look like. But then again, then you'd know too much...
Many thanks to Tavie for starting me up a year ago. Interesting, the same song I had in my head the day I first started blogging, is the same song I'm listening to now. And the song is old. Very old.
As I read the posts I've made from many months ago, I must admit my life the past year was not all that interesting. Sure, I meet new people here; talk to some girls there; a few near misses everywhere... But nothing really stands out, other than my iPod acquisition. I mean, I'm not going to Disneyland, and meeting great people in my job like Tavie is. I'm not finding love and falling in love like Veesha is. Even Mikey gets a girl and a car all within a year of blogging (despite the fact that his girl totalled his car)!! Argh! I need some excitement.
Well fans, all I can promise you is that this year might be different. Don't ask me how, or with who. But shit's gonna change. I can feel it. God's plan is setting motion as we speak...
Glow 2003 is coming! At the Rose Castle on April 19th: Denise Belfon, Krosfyah (that's with Edwin Yearwood), Iwer & Naya George (my peeps!!), KMC, and most importantly, David Rudder and Carl Jacobs will be there! David friggin Rudder and Carl friggin Jacobs on the same stage for the first time in my memory! And Trini Jacobs is supposed to be there too...
Where is my white linen pants!?!? Where's my $20?? Where's my ride??
So many questions, so little time...
Another thing I'll address: the last post has received some interesting feedback. But to clear the air, that was not another one of my freelances; it was the lyrics to an old '80s song that was stuck in my head at the time. I know, I know; what's my head doing in the 80s, right? Well, I enjoy the music back then more than the music of today. I can appreciate a Careless Whisper or a Bust A Move more than I do a Dilemma or a Jenny from The Block anyday. But that's just me...
Well guys, that's all for now. Until next time...
